Today, a 4-star hotel invites to relax where previously textiles were produced: The hotel FABRIC sits in the heart of the French capital Paris at the Rue Folie-Méricourt between the Place de la République and the Place de la Bastille. This is where the working-class neighborhood Ménilmontant was created in the 19th century with numerous craft shops and factories. The hotel FABRIC now offers exquisite comfort in one of these former workshops with profound interior designs: Exciting metal structures, large windows, exposed brick walls and raw materials such as granite and steel use modern means to remind of the crafts once exercised in this district.
Some details of the former factory are an integral part of the hotel facilities: A part of the historic workshop equipment was restored for the reception. The architect Vincent Bastie from Paris in collaboration with the French designers Agnès and Patrice Louboutin Henry staged this archaic, industrial atmosphere. All of the 33 spacious and well-appointed rooms have an elegant bathroom with classic chic: The vanities of the Series 1930 by Duravit remind of the design of an earlier time and their octagonal shape becomes an elegant solitaire in the hotel bathrooms.
